Anselm Kiefer at the Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero
The Hortensia Herrero Art Centre (CAHH), at Calle del Mar 31 in València, presents "Anselm Kiefer", the first exhibition of the influential German artist in the city, from 29 April to 25 October 2026. Curated by Javier Molins, the centre's artistic advisor, the show fills six galleries with eleven works, four of them from the permanent collection, weaving together history, landscape and mythology with references to literature (Baudelaire, Rilke), music (Schubert's Der Tod und das Mädchen) and nature. Its centrepiece is "Danaë" (2016-2021), a work over thirteen metres wide shown in Europe for the first time, which recreates the interior of Berlin's Tempelhof airport under a golden rain alluding to the myth of Danaë and Zeus. The centre is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00 and Sundays from 10:00 to 15:00. General admission is 9 € bought online and 10 € at the box office.
