L'Eliana Summer Cinema 2026: Galactic Night.
A special night dedicated to Valencian fantasy and science fiction.
Open-air summer cinema is a municipal habit here, not a commercial one. Almost every town around València sets up a screen outdoors through July and August, puts out plastic chairs and charges two or three euros. It is not a cinema experience and it is not trying to be. You watch a film outdoors, with the town making noise around you, and everyone turns up in flip-flops.
What Galactic Night is
This particular session is given over to Valencian fantasy and science fiction, meaning work made in this region in a genre that rarely reaches commercial screens. Tickets are 2.50 to 3.50 euros. What is screened is published by the organisers on the official page. That kind of detail is usually confirmed only days ahead, so check it before you set out.
Getting to L'Eliana without a car
L'Eliana is a commuter town in the Camp de Túria, northwest of the city, and it has a Metrovalencia station on the line running up towards Llíria. That makes it one of the easier towns to reach on public transport. The catch is the return: the metro stops running earlier than you would expect for something that begins after dark, so look up the last train before you commit, or plan to drive. Our guide to reaching the villages without a car sets out which lines go where.
Practical notes
Late-August nights inland cool down more than nights on the coast, so a thin layer is worth carrying. Bring mosquito repellent; it is outdoors and there is irrigation water nearby. Screenings in Spain start late by northern European standards, which matters if you have children with you. For the rest of the month see what to do in València in August, and if you want more evening plans of this kind, these ones fit the same slot.
