Circ Voramar
The Circ Voramar festival celebrates its 11th edition from August 28 to September 6, 2026, with 25 free shows at the Poblados Marítimos. It is an urban and social circus festival that has been spreading joy and art in the city for over a decade. You can enjoy outdoor shows, theater, juggling, dance, workshops, and much more.
The Poblados Marítimos are València's seaside districts: Cabanyal-Canyamelar, El Grau, Malva-rosa and Natzaret. This is not a festival with a gate and a wristband — the shows are spread across squares and open spaces in those neighbourhoods, so the first thing to do is check the official programme for which show happens where, and when.
Street circus, and what that means in practice
Urban and social circus: acrobatics, juggling, dance, theatre and workshops, performed in the open with the audience standing or sitting on the ground around the performers. No seat numbers, no stage in the theatre sense. This eleventh edition runs 25 free shows between 28 August and 6 September 2026. Free does not mean unlimited room at any given show — the good spots go to whoever arrives early.
Getting there
This is one of the easiest parts of València to reach without a car. The tram runs down to Neptú, beside the Grau seafront promenade, and metro line 10 serves the Marina and Natzaret; from Cabanyal you can walk to most of it. Driving is the bad option — in August the beach districts are the hardest place in the city to park, and where to park in València covers what actually works. For metro, bus and bike combinations, see getting around València.
Heat, shade and children
Almost everything is outdoors and shade near the sea is patchy. Water, a hat and something to sit on cover most of it. Two local habits worth knowing: many small shops shut in the early afternoon and reopen around 17:00, and nothing social starts early — evenings here run late by northern European standards, children included.
What else is around
The Cabanyal is worth an hour on foot: low tiled houses, straight streets running to the sand, and neighbourhood bars that never left. The Fábrica de Hielo is the port's old ice factory, now a venue, right by the promenade, and Las Arenas beach is directly behind it. More no-cost plans in free things to do in València.
