Symphonic concert: Gustavo Gimeno
This symphonic concert, conducted by Gustavo Gimeno, principal conductor of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, closes the symphonic season at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía with a Spanish-rooted programme crowned by Stravinsky. The maestro and his orchestra perform Maurice Ravel's 'Rapsodie espagnole' and Manuel de Falla's 'Siete canciones populares españolas' in Luciano Berio's orchestral arrangement, with French mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa as soloist. The second half is devoted to Igor Stravinsky's 'The Firebird', the culmination of his early period shaped by Rimsky-Korsakov and the French Impressionists. The concert takes place on Thursday 18 June 2026 at 7:30 pm in the Auditori at Les Arts, running about one hour and twenty minutes. Tickets are available from 10 euros.
