Moros y Cristianos Alzira 2026 holds its central festival days from 2 to 4 October. The medieval market and festive lighting open on Friday at 19:30; the programme continues with parades and a reenactment of the handover of Vila d'Alzira.
What is in the Moros y Cristianos Alzira 2026 programme?
- Friday 2: the Entrada Falsa starts at 20:00 from the Menina roundabout, at the end of Avinguda Sants Patrons, and goes to Plaça del Regne. At 21:00, the Ambaixada de la Conquesta d'Alzira takes place at Muralles del Mercat.
- Saturday 3: children's activities at 11:00 in Plaça del Regne, open to children whether or not they belong to festival groups. At 18:00, squad leaders and music bands make their entrance; at 18:30, a tribute to festival music takes place in front of the Ajuntament d'Alzira.
- Sunday 4: a parade leaves Plaça Major at 12:00 for the Església de Santa Caterina. At 12:45, a food offering is made to Santa Caterina, after which the procession continues to Plaça del Regne.
What time is the Gran Entrada, and what is its route?
Saturday's Gran Entrada Mora i Cristiana starts at 19:00. It follows Avinguda Luis Suñer, Carrer Salvador Enguix, Plaça de la Constitució, Major Santa Caterina, Correus, Avinguda Sants Patrons and Plaça del Regne, ending at Plaça del Mercat.
What does the Ambaixada de la Conquesta reenact?
The performance recreates the handover of Vila d'Alzira to Jaume I el Conqueridor on 30 December 1242. It is staged beside the walls and is followed by a fireworks display.
