Russafa Escènica

From 16 to 27 September 2026, the Ruzafa neighbourhood becomes a stage for the XVI edition of Russafa Escènica, the festival of theatre, dance and live arts this year presented under the motto «Sagrada & Profana». Tickets for the various pieces cost between 5 € and 10 €, available through the festival's own programme.

What to expect

The programme brings together more than twenty brief performances of text theatre, physical and musical theatre, circus, cabaret, dance, puppetry and other live arts, with a good number of world premieres from Valencian Community companies. What sets the festival apart is that performances take place not in conventional theatres but spread across venues throughout the Ruzafa neighbourhood itself: bars, galleries, coworking spaces and even private homes that serve as stages during these days.

Practical tips

Because it takes place in small, unconventional spaces, capacity for each piece tends to be limited, so it's worth booking in advance for the performances that interest you most. Between shows, the neighbourhood is a must-visit for eating: the Mercado Municipal de Russafa and venues like La Bien Parida are just a short walk from most festival venues.
