Fiestas Populares de Patraix
Patraix Popular Festivities: the neighbourhood celebration in October, with live shows, open-air cinema and communal meals around the square.
The Patraix Popular Festivities are the neighbourhood celebrations of Patraix, run by the local residents' association. They take place in autumn and gather activities around the Plaza de Patraix and the streets nearby.
What happens
The programme changes every year, but recent editions have included live shows and dances, open-air cinema, sports activities and workshops for children. A craft, food and NGO fair usually fills the square. The listings name some traditional elements too: giants and big-head figures, fireworks and communal meals.
If you want to join a communal meal, check how people sign up before you arrive, because the programme for each edition says so.
When to go
October is the usual month, although some events start earlier. The 2026 edition was announced for 17 September to 12 October, but the listings do not agree on the start date. These dates change, so check the programme of the edition you plan to attend before you set out.
Getting there
Patraix metro station is a few minutes' walk from the square. If you travel by bus, check which lines stop nearby before you leave.
For other neighbourhood celebrations in the city, see the neighbourhood festivals guide or the festival calendar.
