Rastro de València

What it is

This is a working flea market, not a tourist fair. You'll find vinyl records, out-of-print books, antiques, watches, clothes, tools, crockery and piles of odds and ends that change week to week. Many sellers lay their goods out on a blanket or a folding table, so haggling is expected and part of the fun.

When and where

It runs on Sunday and holiday mornings, 9:00 to 14:00. Serious bargain-hunters turn up at the start, while stalls are still going up and the best pieces haven't gone yet. The site is in Beteró, near the seafront, so it pairs well with a walk along the Malvarrosa beach.
