Valencia Public Holidays and Long Weekends 2026 and 2027
In short: The clearest long weekend of 2026 is 9 to 12 October: Valencian Community Day (Friday 9) and the national holiday (Monday 12). In 2027, 9 October falls on a Saturday and 12 October on a Tuesday, so no autumn bridge is confirmed; the reliable long weekends are 30 October to 1 November and 4 to 6 December. Sources disagree on some regional and Valencia city holidays, so check the DOGV before booking.
What a puente is
A puente ("bridge") is a working day that falls between a public holiday and a weekend, and that many employers and administrations turn into a day off. That makes four days in a row without using holiday leave. It is not a holiday in itself: it depends on each company's or administration's decision.
Upcoming verified long weekends
- 9 to 12 October 2026: Friday 9 (Valencian Community Day, a fixed regional holiday) and Monday 12 (Spain's national holiday). This is the only 2026 bridge we can confirm with clear dates.
- 25 December 2026: Friday (Christmas). A national holiday, but not a bridge on its own.
- 1 and 6 January 2027: Friday 1 (New Year) and Wednesday 6 (Epiphany). The 6th does not make a bridge.
- 26 March 2027: Friday (Good Friday, national holiday).
- 22 January 2027: Friday, a local holiday in the city of Valencia according to the sources we checked.
- 30 October to 1 November 2027: long weekend because of Monday 1 (All Saints).
- 4 to 6 December 2027: long weekend because of Monday 6 (Constitution Day).
We leave out 9 October 2027 (Saturday), 12 October 2027 (Tuesday), 8 December 2027 (Wednesday), Easter Monday 2027, San Juan and the second Valencia city holiday: the sources do not agree on them. Always confirm in the DOGV before booking.
What to do on a long weekend in Valencia
A long weekend is a good time to leave the city. Check the weekend agenda for what is on those dates; take a hiking route or visit a village within an hour; head to the beaches if the weather holds; or pick a free plan in the city.
