Open in Google Maps

Above Corbera, the castle is an 11th-century Muslim fortress raised over Roman remains. From its promontory it watches the Ribera Baixa plain all the way to the coast, which earned it the name of crow's nest.

History

The fortress guarded the plain and the routes toward the sea from the Islamic period onward. Today it stands as a ruined hilltop site reached on foot.

What to see

Ruined walls and the wide view over the plain, the Albufera direction and the sea, the same panorama that gave the fortress its crow's nest name. In town, complete the visit with the Sants Vicents church and the Sant Miquel tower.
