The museum offers a chronological and thematic tour of the Cànyoles valley from Prehistory to the Modern Age. Along that route it displays material from the Neolithic, the Late Bronze Age, the Iberian period and the Roman period, so the visitor can follow the succession of cultures that left their mark on the valley. The centre also organises guided visits for groups of up to 25 people, always by prior appointment, a format that allows the route to be adapted to each group's interests. The exhibition thus brings together pieces from very different periods in a continuous account of the settlement of the valley.
