What to see in Olocau
Olocau, about 29 km from València, is a Camp de Túria village with about 2,500 residents, between the Calderona and the Carraixet ravine. It shares land with the Calderona nature park.
The Puntal dels Llops settlement is the second Edetani site after Tossal de Sant Miquel, inside the park. The Muslim Castillo del Real (Hisn al-Uqab) watches from the ridge. In the centre, the 18th-century Roser church and the counts palace-house start the climbs. At the foot of the Puntal survive the Arquet, of the Roman aqueduct, and Roman kilns.
The centre with church and palace-house opens the day; castle and Puntal, on the same Calderona slope, fill the next half day. They are mountain climbs on park trails: bring walking boots, water and avoid midday.
Local tip
Church and centre first; castle and Puntal on the same slope, on foot and with water. These are mountain climbs, not town strolls.
