Immerse Yourself in Ancient Egypt at Virtual Zone
Visit Virtual Zone in Valencia to experience ancient Egypt through virtual reality. You'll use free-movement technology and VR glasses to explore temples, navigate the Nile and solve ancient mysteries. The 40-minute experience includes 20 minutes of preparation.
The experience is available until 5 October 2026 at Virtual Zone, on Carrer de Russafa. It runs 40 minutes inside virtual reality, around 60 in total once you count the setup, and starts from 22 €.
What free-roam VR actually is
The difference from sofa VR is that you are not seated or spinning on the spot: you physically walk around a real room while the headset shows you somewhere else. You move through temples, sail the Nile and work through Ancient Egyptian puzzles using your own legs. Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing — the headset and harness add heat, and València in September is still warm.
Worth asking before you book
The listing gives no minimum age and does not say whether an English-language version is offered. If you are bringing children, or anyone who does not speak Spanish, ask when booking — do not assume. Two common-sense points as well: if you get carsick easily, VR can do the same thing to you, and large prescription glasses do not always fit under a headset, so flag it in advance.
Where it is, and what is nearby
Carrer de Russafa sits between the Estació del Nord and the Ruzafa quarter, a short walk from the centre. Xàtiva metro station (lines 3, 5 and 9) is a few minutes away and a car is pointless here. Afterwards, Ruzafa is around the corner for dinner, the Mercado de Colón is ten minutes on foot, and Parc Central is directly behind the station. Being indoors and air-conditioned, it also works as a plan for a rainy day or the hottest hours of the afternoon; for eating afterwards, see where to go for tapas.
