Exhibition "Tania Candiani. Radix"
An immersive installation recreating an underground ecosystem at the IVAM, combining live plants, a rhizotron, glass sculptures and video projections. The exhibition is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 until September 20, 2026.
Tania Candiani's installation stays up at the IVAM until 20 September. The premise is simple to describe and unusual to see: instead of looking at plants, you look at what happens under them. A rhizotron is a box of soil with a glass face that lets you watch roots grow, and that is the starting point of the piece, alongside the glass sculptures and video projections.
Hours and price
According to the published information the exhibition opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 19:00, with general admission at 5 €. Mondays are out — that is normal for museums in Spain, not a quirk of this one. Reduced rates and any free-entry slots should be confirmed on the museum's own site, which is where they are kept current.
Where it is and how to get there
The IVAM stands at Guillem de Castro 118, on the ring road that traces the line of the demolished city wall, at the edge of the Carme quarter. It is a walk of fifteen minutes or so from the town hall square, and several EMT bus routes run along Guillem de Castro. Driving here is a poor idea; if you must, see where to park in València.
What else is within five minutes
The Centre del Carme, in a former convent, is two streets away and generally free to enter. The Torres de Quart face you across the road, the stonework still pitted by Napoleonic artillery. If the weather turns, this block covers half of what to do in València when it rains. Other options in the best museums in the city.
