Castell de Beselga
A castle of Muslim origin in the hamlet of Beselga, destroyed by the agermanats of Morvedre and later rebuilt by Gracià de Monsoriu. It was abandoned for good in the 17th century and suffered a major landslide on its north wall, which has since been restored. The town hall of Estivella organises the ruta de les claus del castell to visit it.
The Castell de Beselga is of Muslim origin and was destroyed by the agermanats of Morvedre. It was later rebuilt by Gracià de Monsoriu, and the building was abandoned in the 17th century. Today the town hall of Estivella organises the ruta de les claus del castell to visit it, an activity that allows visitors to see the site guided by the person who keeps the keys. The visit itself combines the history of the castle with the surrounding landscape and with the memory of the hamlet of Beselga today.
