Castillo de Benisanó
A castle-palace from the second half of the 15th century, one of the best preserved in the Valencian Community, built over an Arab farmstead called Benixanut by the Cavanilles and Villarrasa family. It keeps the parade ground, the noble hall with blazoned doors, 19th-century tiles and the room where Francis I of France stayed.
The Castillo de Benisanó is a castle-palace from the second half of the 15th century. It was built over the Arab farmstead of Benixanut, and it is considered one of the best preserved castles in the Valencian Community. King Francis I of France stayed there during his captivity. That circumstance links the building to a well-known episode of European history and strengthens its interest, which adds to its state of conservation and to its origin over an earlier settlement. Its state of conservation makes it possible to walk through the structure of a castle-palace.
