Centre d'Interpretació de la Cultura de la Pansa
An interpretation centre housed in the Riurau del Roig, a former grape-drying building restored and turned into a museum. It explains the raisin cycle, from the growing of muscatel grapes to drying and export, which was the economic base of Ròtova until the phylloxera crisis.
The Centre d'Interpretació de la Cultura de la Pansa occupies the old Riurau del Roig, a drying building restored and turned into a museum. The exhibition is devoted to raisin culture and explains how the grapes were grown, how they were dried and how the product was prepared for export. The local economy centred on raisins and later on oranges, so the museum documents an activity that shaped the landscape and the work of the municipality. The building preserves the structure of the drying house and makes its operation understandable.
