El Fadrí is the free-standing bell tower of Castellón de la Plana and the symbol of the city. It is a 15th-century Gothic tower, octagonal in plan and about 58 metres high, standing metres from the co-cathedral across the square.
The tower
It rises in four ashlar stages, with gargoyles and an upper tempietto. The name, meaning bachelor in Valencian, refers to its free-standing state, with no church attached.

See it from the Plaza Mayor, with the co-cathedral beside it. Climbing inside depends on scheduled visits, so ask at the tourist office. Pair with the co-cathedral and the Fine Arts Museum.
