It guards the late Romanesque carving of Santa María de Carlet and the sculptural group of the Descent from the 18th century. It was originally the temple of a convent complex of the Dominican Order, founded in 1610 by Jorge de Castellví, count of Carlet. It guards the late Romanesque carving of Santa María de Carlet, a polychrome wood work from the mid-14th century. The sculptural group of the Descent (18th century) stars in the Good Friday procession. On October 2, 1870, the church was practically destroyed by an earthquake and was rehabilitated for worship in 1946. It was declared a Site of Local Relevance in 2002. It is located in Plaça del Convent, Carlet.
