Museo Etnológico y Arqueológico de Bejís
A municipal museum with Roman stelae, jars and many ethnographic objects. It brings together material documenting the Roman presence in the municipality and the traditional life of the locality, in a district whose rock paintings testify to human settlement going back 10,000 years.
The Museo Etnológico y Arqueológico de Bejís preserves Roman stelae, vessels and many ethnographic objects. The origin of the present settlement is Roman, and the aqueduct is its most important remain. The rock paintings of the district testify to human settlement going back 10,000 years. With these materials, the museum brings together in one space the trace of the Roman presence and the objects that document the traditional life of the locality. The combination of archaeological and ethnographic pieces makes it possible to cover a very long stretch of time and to understand how this territory has been settled and worked over millennia.
