Palacio del Barón
18th-century palace on Reloj street. The main civic building of the canyon town.
On Reloj street in Cortes de Pallás, the Baron palace is the main civic building of the town. It dates from the 18th century and ordered the centre with the church of Los Ángeles (1775).
History
The palace went up in the 1700s as the house of the local lord, as Cortes took shape as a Júcar town. Its sober fabric keeps the character of an inland rural manor. The visit needs about twenty minutes, between the square and the church.
What to see
The 18th-century facade on Reloj street and the manor mass in the old town. The visit continues in the square church; Chirel castle needs a separate trip.
