The walled Iberian settlement of Los Villares is identified with the Iberian city of Kelin. It lies in the municipality of Caudete de las Fuentes, within the Requena-Utiel region. It is an Iberian settlement protected by a wall, a feature that distinguishes this type of village within Iberian culture. Its identification with Kelin gives the place a name and links it to the Iberian city of the same name. The complex thus retains an interest that combines the archaeology of settlement with historical place names. The ceramic and coin finds support that reading of the site.
