L'Umbracle is the most discreet — and least visited — structure in the City of Arts and Sciences: a 320-metre landscaped walkway raised above the rest of the complex, beneath a succession of white arches almost 18 metres high, designed by Santiago Calatrava.

Unlike the Hemisfèric or the Museu de les Ciències, no ticket is needed to stroll through here: it's a free public space, ideal for viewing the architectural ensemble from a bit of height and, at dusk, for the views out to sea.
