Playa del Arenal (Xàbia)
The sandy beach of Xàbia, a sheltered bay of turquoise waters with a promenade full of bars and restaurants. One of the prettiest on the Marina Alta.
Playa del Arenal is the big sandy beach of Xàbia, a sheltered bay of turquoise, shallow water that makes it one of the prettiest in the Marina Alta. Unlike much of the surrounding coast, which is dominated by rocky and pebble coves, here the fine sand and calm water make it ideal for families and for an unhurried day by the sea.
The atmosphere
The Arenal revolves around its seafront promenade, lined with bars, ice-cream parlours and restaurants with terraces facing the water. It is a lively, cosmopolitan beach, especially in summer, when life carries on into the evening and night with beach bars and lounges.
Facilities
- Fine sand and a gentle, gradual entry into the water, comfortable for children.
- Plenty of bars and restaurants right on the promenade.
- A well-developed area for tourism, with seasonal services.
Tips for your visit
- In high season parking can be tricky: arrive early.
- For a wilder, rocky alternative, it is worth heading to Cala Granadella.
- Sunset from the promenade, drink in hand, is one of the great pleasures here.
