Playa del Puig
A quiet, uncrowded beach north of València, reachable by commuter train. Ideal for a relaxed day by the sea without a car.
The beach at El Puig is one of those quiet stretches of sand north of València where the plan is, quite simply, to let the hours drift by facing the Mediterranean. Away from the bustle of the city beaches, it keeps a calm, family-friendly feel, perfect for anyone after a relaxed day at the sea without big crowds.
The atmosphere
With golden sand and open water, this beach rarely gets packed, even in high season. It is ideal for laying out your towel in peace, reading, taking long swims and strolling along the shore. The mood is low-key and largely untouristy, much loved by people who live in the surrounding towns.
Getting there and facilities
Its great advantage is accessibility: you can reach it by cercanías commuter train from València, which makes it a perfect seaside escape if you do not have a car. From the station it is a short walk down to the sand.
- Arrive early if you want to eat at a nearby beach bar or restaurant, especially at weekends.
- Bring water, shade and sunscreen: the Valencian sun is strong from May to September.
- Pair your beach day with a visit to the village of El Puig and its historic surroundings.
A great choice for discovering the calmer coastline north of the city. See more options in our beaches section.
