Moros y Cristianos de València — 9 d’Octubre
València’s city festival brings together the Moors and Christians parade for 9 d’Octubre and the Turia medieval market, with FeVaMiC organising.
The city-centre Moors and Christians festival in València is linked to 9 d’Octubre and organised by Federación Valenciana de Moros y Cristianos (FeVaMiC). The medieval market in Jardín del Turia belongs to this celebration; it is distinct from the Cabanyal festival.
Parade and market: two different visits
The main parade is part of the 9 d’Octubre programme. The market has its own site in the Turia, between Puente de la Exposición and Puente de las Flores. FeVaMiC and Balconet jointly organise the market, with crafts, food and performances.
The 2026 edition and what comes next
The city council announces the market for 2–13 October 2026. This period applies to that edition, rather than fixing the festival’s length every year. Check the municipal market listing and the city’s 9 d’Octubre programme for individual activities. The next edition’s programme awaits publication.
Planning your visit
Check the parade route separately from the market site. Market admission is free; this does not mean free food or purchases. Do not assume that times or routes repeat from one year to the next.
Frequently asked questions
Does everything happen in Jardín del Turia?
No. The Turia hosts the market; the parade follows the route in the annual city-centre programme.
Is this the same organisation as in Cabanyal?
No. The Cabanyal and Marítimo festival is organised by its own Agrupación de Comparsas. For other ideas, see the festival calendar.
