Quesa — Canal de Navarrés, cañón del río Grande (desde los Charcos de Quesa)

Almost everyone stops at the Charcos de Quesa pools without realising that, upstream through the río Grande canyon, hides a shelter with some fifty Levantine rock paintings: archers, women and a scene that looks like a ritual dance, all in wine-red. It's art made thousands of years ago deep in the gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and with hardly a soul around.

Follow the PR-CV 203 trail from the Charcos car park along the río Grande bed; bring water shoes and drinking water, as the river is often dry on the surface and there's no shade or facilities at the shelter.
