Castillo Palacio de Argelita
It was the last residence of Zayd Abu Zayd, the Muslim king of Valencia, after he withdrew from his domains following his pacts with James I. Only two towers remain of the complex: a square, seigneurial, battlemented one, and a round defensive one with a 1252 Arabic inscription.
The Castillo Palacio de Argelita was the last residence of Zayd Abu Zayd, the Muslim king of Valencia. Of the complex, only two of the towers of its fortification remain. The square tower is of the seigneurial, battlemented type, with a ground floor and three upper levels. The other tower, round and defensive, preserves an Arabic inscription from 1252. The two surviving elements make it possible to imagine the scale of the palace and its role as the residence of a prominent figure. The site therefore keeps a very specific, though reduced, part of a complex that was once much larger.
