The oldest reservoir in the Turia basin (1915), wedged into the Tromagal gorge inside the Valencian Community's first geological natural park. While the coaches fill up nearby Chulilla, here you get a turquoise reservoir ringed by mountains and pine woods almost to yourself — perfect for a hike and a picnic in total silence.
Drive in via Chera and park at the reservoir's authorised camping area, where there are tables, fountains and shade. Note that swimming and boating are restricted because it's a natural park, so go for the scenery, the walking trails and the peace, not for a swim.
