The church of the Asunción is the Baroque parish church of the historic centre of Onda, below the castle. The current church is from the 18th century and keeps an altarpiece painted by Juan de Juanes in 1558, the centrepiece of the visit. From the square you can see the stone doorway and the bell tower over the rooftops, and the inside visit takes a few minutes.
The church
The Baroque nave, with side chapels, houses the Juanes altarpiece, by a master of the Valencian Renaissance. The bell tower and stone doorway mark the old town square.
