For decades it was, together with the now-lost washhouse of the Font square, one of the main meeting and social spots for the town's women.

More than a washhouse

The women of the village came here to do the laundry, but the washhouse was far more than that: a daily meeting place where conversations and friendships were built in a world made for men. Along with the now-lost washhouse on the Font square, it was one of the main spaces for women's social life in the town.
