Potries

An ethnographic museum housed in the home and workshop of Potries' last potter, Àngel Domínguez, who died in the mid-1980s. The building preserves the traditional dwelling, the kiln, the settling basins, the kick wheel and the glaze mill. The town hall bought the property to recover the memory of a craft that gave the town its name.

The Museu Cassoleria d'Àngel Domínguez shows the workshop and home of the last potter of Potries. The name of the municipality has its origin in the craft of pottery, so the activity gives the town itself its name. Àngel Domínguez, the last potter still working, died in the mid-1980s, and with him a very long craft tradition came to an end. The building preserves in situ the kiln, the settling basins, the kick wheel and the glaze mill, the elements that made it possible to complete the process of making ceramics.
