The Museu de la Ceràmica in L'Alcora occupies a mansion in the old town, on Tejedores street in the Sangre district. The building was erected in 1907 and its first owner was Juan Gil del Castillo. In 1929 it passed to the Nomdedeu family, who kept it until 1988, when the town council acquired it with the aim of turning it into a ceramics museum. That sequence of owners explains the transformation of a private house into a cultural facility. The museum thus brings together the history of the building and the local ceramics tradition, and forms part of a walk through the old town of L'Alcora.
