The Reial Fàbrica de Loza i Porcellana in L'Alcora was a royal manufactory created in 1727 in the town on the initiative of Pedro de Alcántara Buenaventura Abarca de Bolea, ninth Count of Aranda. His son Pedro Pablo, who was part of the enlightened governments of Charles III and Charles IV, gave notable support to the production of fine earthenware and porcelain. The factory thus became a reference centre for these manufactures, and its history remains linked to the town itself. The complex helps explain the role of ceramics in the economy and material culture of L'Alcora.
