In the old town of Albaida, the Palace of the Milà y Aragó stands on the medieval wall line. It was built between 1471 and 1477 as the residence of the marquises, keeping three square towers and long galleries decorated with Baroque frescoes by Bertomeu Albert.

History

The palace reuses stretches of the 13th-century walls raised after the Christian conquest. A 1:100 model inside shows what the town looked like in the 15th century, with the walled enclosure complete.

What to see

The frescoed rooms come first, then the International Puppet Museum (MITA), which occupies part of the building. Combine the visit with the nearby Asunción church, a short walk away.
