El Penyó de l'Alcalà (Peña de la Alcalá)
—
Viewpoint FREE
While everyone queues for the bell tower, locals slip off to the little Sant Gregori square to look at the Penyó de l'Alcalà: a rock needle topped by the ruins of a watchtower once reachable only by rope ladder. From this quiet corner you get the crag, the turquoise reservoir and the whole valley with nobody around.
Come before 11am or after 5pm when the coaches leave, and you'll have the village almost empty. The little square is free and isn't on any of the signs.
