Plaça de la Vila y casco histórico
Medieval arcaded main square, with the Motxa tower remnant. Old town lanes around it.
The Plaça de la Vila is the medieval main square of Villarreal, arcaded and regular in plan. The remnant of the Motxa tower, from the founding wall, stands on it, with the historic core spreading around.
The square
The square keeps the arcades and the houses of the medieval town, with the town hall and the long-standing shops. It is the starting point for the old town walk. The arcades give shade in summer and shelter when it rains, and the terraces liven the square. At night, the lit square invites a stroll.
