The Platja de les Cases is a fine-sand beach with a wooded area, in whose shade chess and drawing competitions are held in August. The breakwaters along the shoreline make it possible to go fishing. In summer the beach also hosts a 24-hour night volleyball tournament that opens the town's festivities in the second week of August. These uses turn the sands into a meeting place for local people during the high season and explain its close link with the festive calendar of Xilxes. Shade, fishing and sport thus share the same stretch of sand.
