Acueducto de la Cartuja de Portacoeli
—
Monument FREE
Deep in the Serra Calderona, a slender Gothic aqueduct from 1412 crosses the ravine to carry water from the Fuente de la Mina to the monks' charterhouse. The monastery is still cloistered and closed, but the aqueduct can be seen and walked around freely from the path — a corner of stone and pine almost nobody stops for on the way to the Garbí.
Park near the charterhouse (you can't go in, it's cloistered) and walk over to the aqueduct; combine it with the climb to the Garbí viewpoint or Rebalsadores for a perfect morning in the Calderona. Best midweek, as weekends fill up with cyclists and hikers.
