Església de la Sang
A building of medieval origin, given Baroque form in the 17th century, raised partly over a cistern that may have served as a crypt. It preserves thirteen pointed arches, possibly from the 14th century, and is one of the most singular buildings in the historic centre of Vilafamés.
The Església de la Sang in Vilafamés is a building of medieval origin that was given Baroque form in the 17th century. It was raised partly over a cistern that may have served as a crypt, a detail that explains the relationship of the church with the subsoil of the historic centre. It preserves thirteen pointed arches, possibly from the 14th century, which are one of its most singular elements. For all these reasons it is one of the most notable buildings of the historic ensemble of Vilafamés. Its architecture brings together medieval and Baroque phases in a single volume.
