What to see in Vilafamés
Villafamés, about 77 km from Valencia in the Plana Alta, is a village of 1,962 residents built in reddish stone over the Pla de l'Arc. A Pueblo Bonito since 2015, it is walked from the hilltop castle to the contemporary-art old quarter.
Vilafamés Castle crowns the village with walls and towers over the plain. Below, the Gothic church of la Sangre faces the castle from the upper quarter, and the church of the Asunción, of Gothic base, serves the old quarter. The MACVAC, a contemporary art museum in historic houses, is the cultural reason for the visit.
