Fuente Negra
A crystal-clear spring on the outskirts of Anna that feeds the nearby Gorgo Catalán, a small wooded lagoon. With its wooden bridge and cool shade, it is one of the best-loved corners of this town famed precisely for its abundance of water.
The name is misleading: the water of Fuente Negra is crystal-clear and very cool, owing its name to the small dark lagoon that forms where it surfaces. It lies on the edge of Anna, along the Paseo de las Fuentes on the way to Chella.
The setting
The same Paseo de las Fuentes takes in two further springs: the Fuente de Abajo, hidden in a cave, and the Fuente de Arriba, with five spouts. The water of Fuente Negra feeds the nearby Gorgo Catalán, and between the wooden bridge and the shade of the trees it is a welcome place for a walk or a summer picnic.
A local detail
