The Bola de la Lloma is the white dome of the weather radar marking a high shoulder of the Cullera range, in Ribera Baixa. The PR-CV 336 route, the Senda de la Lloma, passes the installations and continues along the ridge with views over the bay, the beaches and the inland rice fields. The dome is a working installation and is looked at from the path.
The starting point
The route starts on the north side of the municipal cemetery, where the information panel stands, on the road from Nazaret to Oliva. Park in the designated area there and take the signposted Senda de la Lloma loop.
The ridge path
From the cemetery, the Senda de la Lloma (PR-CV 336) climbs to the range crest and follows it to the radar installations, at the 234 m high point. It then drops around the top, passes the fort and ends behind the castle and the sanctuary. One variant of the route includes a short scramble down, so keep to the main signposted trail.
What to look at from the top
From the ridge, orchard, sea and mountain meet in a single walk, facing the Júcar mouth, the Corbera range and the Albufera. Below lie the fort, Cullera castle and the sanctuary, which make a separate visit.
Before you go
- The route touches the protected Albufera area: check the rules of the site before going.
- Bring water, mountain shoes and the PR-CV 336 leaflet.
- Do not enter the radar compound or the fenced-off zones on the descent.
- Check PREVIFOC and GVA112 and confirm the state of the trail with the town council.
