MACVAC – Museu d'Art Contemporani
The Vicente Aguilera Cerni Museum of Contemporary Art, housed in the Palau del Batlle, a civil Gothic palace built in the mid-15th century and remodelled in the 18th. It was founded and directed by the critic Vicente Aguilera Cerni in 1969 and is the reference museum of inland Castellón.
The MACVAC, Museu d'Art Contemporani Vicente Aguilera Cerni, occupies the Palau del Batlle, a civil Gothic palace built in the mid-15th century and remodelled in the 18th century. The museum was founded and directed by the critic Vicente Aguilera Cerni in 1969. Its location in a historic building allows the contemporary art collection to be related to the architectural heritage of Vilafamés. It is the reference museum of inland Castellón and a meeting point between the works on display and the historic centre around them. The museum also makes it possible to read the relationship between the collection and the building that houses it.
