Paratge natural del riu Serpis
A stretch of the Serpis river declared a protected Natural Site of the Valencian Community, between Alcoi and its mouth at Gandia. Its 50 kilometres and some 10,000 hectares link the mountains and the coast, with landscape, ecological and cultural values. In Potries the river forms a bathing area popularly known as the playa de Potries.
The Serpis river and its surroundings are declared a protected Natural Site of the Comunitat Valenciana. The area is 50 kilometres long and covers some 10,000 hectares, linking the mountains with the coast. Along that route it brings together landscape, ecological and cultural values that explain its protection. In Potries the river forms a bathing area known as the playa de Potries, a point where the channel opens up and allows recreational use of the water. The extent of the protected area makes it possible to understand the river as a continuous corridor between two very different environments.
