Ermita de la Santa Cruz
16th-century hermitage on a hill, with views over the Montesa valley. The upper chapel of the Order town.
On the Santa Cruz hill, facing the castle of Montesa, the 16th-century hermitage looks over the valley. It is the upper chapel of the Order town.
History
The hermitage went up in the 16th century as a hill chapel, when Montesa lived in the shadow of the castle-convent. Its place made it a natural viewpoint over the valley and the castle hill. The visit needs half an hour between climb and viewpoint, and pairs well with the castle in the same afternoon.
What to see
