Museu Comarcal de l'Horta Sud "Josep Ferrís March"
Free ethnological museum installed in an old farmhouse from the early 20th century: dormitorios (bedrooms), cocina (kitchen), almazara (olive mill), and cuadras (stables) as they operated in a huerta valenciana, plus a temporary exhibition hall.
The Museu Comarcal de l'Horta Sud «Josep Ferrís March» occupies the old house of Estudiant de Boqueta, a farmhouse built in the first decade of the 20th century. It's the best place in Torrent to understand what everyday life was like in the Valencian huerta before the city grew to absorb the fields around it.
What to see
The ground floor reproduces the working and living spaces of a farmhouse: bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, stable, oil mill and farmyard. The upper floor holds the hayloft and the space dedicated to the whole Horta Sud district, and the basement houses the Sala Faitanar, given over to temporary exhibitions. The museum also runs educational workshops — bread-making, weights and measures, traditional games — aimed mainly at school groups.
Practical information
Admission is free. Opening hours vary by season (from October to May it opens afternoons Tuesday to Saturday, with a morning slot on Saturdays; in summer the hours are reduced to mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday), so it's worth checking the current timetable on the museum's website before going, especially outside peak season.
