History

The basins belonged to a coastal Roman villa that lived from the sea. Cut stone and sluices regulated the water flow between the open sea and each tank.

What to see

The rock-cut pools at the water edge, clearest at low tide with a calm sea. The promenade passes right by, so it links with a walk to the old quarter and the town walls.
