Since 1921 this Cabanyal bodega has been one of the temples of the Valencian esmorzaret, awarded the Cacau d'Or for its outsized mid-morning sandwiches. There's no designer menu and no camera-toting tourists here — just neighbours, workers and anyone who knows the real almuerzo happens before noon.
Go on a weekday around 10:30 genuinely hungry and order the horse-meat sandwich with its picaeta; they close early afternoon and aren't open on Sundays.
