Casa Guillermo
This family tavern from 1957, tucked just behind Carrer de Benlliure, is known among Valencians as the temple of the anchovy: they desalt and clean each one by hand and the founder was crowned the King of the Anchovy. Still family-run, with seafaring soul, vermut on tap and a titaina that tastes of the old Cabanyal.
Order a board of Cantabrian anchovies with a vermut and, if it's on that day, the titaina; the neighbourhood still has spots to park, easier than heading down to the beach.
